The Link Between Dementia and Blood Sugar

It has been suggested in other articles, and recently a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine has reconfirmed the linkage between higher blood sugar and the risk of developing dementia.

The relationship between higher glucose levels and dementia seems to have been established in patients with diabetes.  In this recent study, the same relationship was identified in people without diabetes.  It remains unknown just how much you an reduce your risk of dementia simply by keeping your glucose levels low, but the evidence seems pretty clear … too much sugar has lots of bad health consequences.
