Here’s an overview of some of the technology that is available to help family members keep their loved ones safe, healthy, and comfortable.
Remote Monitoring Systems
Remote monitoring systems allow caregivers to check in on their loved ones from anywhere, anytime. Many of these systems are equipped with motion sensors that detect when someone is moving around in the home and alert caregivers if there’s been an unusual amount of activity or an extended period of inactivity. Additionally, remote monitoring systems offer real-time video streaming so that family members can keep an eye on their parent’s well-being even when they’re not at home.
Smart Home Technology
Smart home devices such as programmable thermostats, lighting controls, and automated shades can help make life easier for elderly parents. Automated systems reduce the need to remember instructions or worry about safety concerns like leaving lights on or forgetting to lock doors. Smart home devices also give caregivers peace of mind knowing that their parent is living safely in a secure environment.

Medical alert systems provide seniors with a way to quickly get help if they find themselves in an emergency situation.
