Sometimes you feel like a nut!

November 23, 2013

And that is a good thing, according to recent study that indicates that people who eat nuts enjoy better health by a number of measures.

Researchers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Harvard School of Public Health found that people who eat nuts every day are 20 percent less likely to die—from any cause – than people do not.

Nuts provide numerous health benefits.   Cancer risk drops by 11 percent.  The risk of death from coronary disease falls by 29 percent.  Other benefits included reduced obesity, better blood sugar levels, better blood pressure and less inflammation, which gives rise to a host of ailments.

The only drawback is that nuts are caloric, so it’s easy to overdo your consumption.  Go easy on them, but enjoy!
