Exercise Regime Showing Better Results than Meds

A novel exercise program being evaluated in San Diego may improve outcomes in patients who have dementia, with benefits  greater than those achieved with medication.

A pilot program combining functional movement and mindful body awareness, improved cognitive function and quality of life compared with usual means of care.  While it was a small study, it provides preliminary evidence that a unique exercise program combining elements of yoga, pilates and the like may have huge benefits.
